From Corporate Waste to Positive Impact: The Birth of All Heart NZ
There may not be value in your old office, but there’s tremendous value in office furniture, fixtures, and equipment, particularly for New Zealand communities that would otherwise have to divert precious resources to buy these items.
“As I walked out of a friend’s accounting office in 2015, I couldn’t help but notice the towering piles of unwanted computers, desks, chairs and other office equipment.
It made me think about all the times during my corporate career when I had witnessed similar items being carelessly thrown away. And the countless times I had left my own unwanted technology gathering dust in drawers.
But thanks to my background in the social sector, I saw those discarded items in a new light – they were no longer just wasted space, but an opportunity to make a real difference in the world.
And that’s how All Heart NZ was born, as we developed over time to include our RePurpose and ReThink offerings. We describe ourselves as a profit-for-purpose company. We’re a registered charity, which means we maintain accountability at a very high level, and 100% of our proceeds are reinvested into the business and positive environmental or social programmes. Think of us as a business with an end-game: community and environmental benefits.
